Windows + doors.
Automated.

The vinyl double-hung ordered for Unit 6 came in 1/4 inch off on the rough opening because the measure sheet had a transcription error. Reorder is 4 weeks out. The homeowner has a plastic-covered hole in their wall until then. A window that goes in wrong costs more to fix than 3 jobs are worth in profit. Custom and specialty windows have 4-8 week lead times. If you're not tracking those orders actively, you find out they're delayed when the install crew shows up.

What's costing you on window and door jobs

Measure accuracy, lead time management, and installation sequencing are the three places where most window and door contractors lose margin.

Measure Errors That Become Reorders

A window order is only as accurate as the field measure sheet. On a 15-window replacement job, a transcription error on one unit -- transposing a width or height dimension -- results in a unit that doesn't fit. The reorder adds 4-6 weeks and leaves one opening covered in plastic. The homeowner is unhappy. The fix costs more than the profit on that unit. Measure documentation with a photo of the opening beside the measurement is the step that prevents the reorder.

Lead Time Surprises on Custom and Specialty Units

An energy-efficient casement with a specific Low-E glass package and custom interior finish has a 6-8 week lead time. If that conversation doesn't happen at the point of sale -- before the contract is signed -- the homeowner is surprised when the install date gets pushed by 6 weeks. Lead time disclosed and confirmed at contract, tracked from order to delivery, keeps the homeowner informed and eliminates the install-day surprise.

Installation Sequencing Gaps on New Construction

On a new construction or major addition, windows and exterior doors need to be installed and flashed before siding and insulation can proceed. If your delivery is delayed, the siding sub can't start, the insulation can't start, and the GC's schedule cascades. Being the trade that delayed 3 other subs is the fastest way to lose a GC relationship and get bumped from the approved vendor list.

Warranty and Callback Documentation

A window installed 14 months ago is fogging between the panes. Is it a manufacturer defect within the glass warranty period? Is it a seal failure caused by improper installation? Without the original install record -- glass package, spacer type, installation crew, seal product used -- the conversation with the homeowner and the manufacturer is a guessing game. Warranty resolution without documentation costs you labor and materials. With documentation, the manufacturer pays.

Implementations for every
size of operation

The problems are the same at every scale. The build is different. Here is what SYNTAX deploys depending on where your operation is right now.

Owner-Operator
1-2 person install crew
You're measuring, ordering, installing, and billing. SYNTAX logs every measure with photos, tracks your open orders against install dates, and sends invoices the day the job closes.
Measure documentation with photosOrder tracking vs. install dateInvoice auto-send on job completion
Growing Shop
3-8 installers
You have multiple jobs in flight with overlapping order timelines. SYNTAX tracks every open order by unit, flags delivery changes before they affect the install schedule, and manages the GC communication cycle for new construction jobs.

Established Company
Commercial + large residential
At this scale the warranty documentation and GC relationship management are the business. SYNTAX builds the data layer: install records by crew, warranty claim resolution rate, material defect rate by manufacturer, and GC on-time delivery performance.

What we build for your operation

We do not sell software subscriptions. We build the automation layer on top of the tools you are already running and deploy it fast. No ripping out your existing stack. Four systems that handle the work that is currently eating your week.

Measure
Field Measure Documentation

Measure visit: every opening photographed with measurement tape visible. Dimensions recorded in system with photo attached. Measure sheet reviewed before order placed. Any dimension flagged as unusual (outside standard tolerances) gets a second check before order submission. One transcription error prevention step that eliminates the 4-6 week reorder.

Order Tracking + Delivery Confirmation

Order placed: manufacturer confirmation number logged, lead time recorded, install date set after expected delivery. Delivery change received: install date updated and homeowner or GC notified with new window. Delivery confirmed: install crew notified with confirmed date and unit manifest to verify on delivery.

Installation
Flashing and Air Seal Documentation

Each installed unit gets an installation log: flashing type and coverage, air seal product applied, sill pan installed, exterior caulk applied and photographed. Logs stored against the job and unit. Manufacturer warranty claims require installation documentation -- shops with photos and condition logs recover material costs. Shops without them absorb it.

We built these systems
because we needed them first.

SYNTAX came out of Phase III Construction -- an insurance restoration contractor running 5-12 simultaneous jobs across SE Michigan since 1993. Different trade, same structural problem: missed calls, slow collections, callbacks with no data, and jobs that stall when the communication cycle drops. We built these systems because we were the ones bleeding time and margin without them. The same systems that fixed our operation are what we deploy for yours.
